PRACTICUM
More than an internship for masters level graduate students, the InterPro practicums are actual hands-on full-time industrial projects with defined sets of objectives and deliverables. They enable students to apply their engineering skills to real world industrial challenges.
Industry-sponsored graduate student projects provide a wide range of benefits to students, faculty and the sponsors. They enhance the educational experience, give faculty insight into current industrial challenges, provide solutions to project sponsors, and develop interactions among students, faculty, and sponsors.
Practicums can include one to four students. Each student project is supported by at least one faculty advisor who consults with the student(s) and the company. A salary is negotiated between the student and the company. The company's cost for participation is a project fee of $2,500 per student plus student salaries.
